President and Founder
James Kimer serves as president and founder of Media Theory, overseeing a team of 5 professionals. James is a public relations and digital communications practitioner with 25 years of experience specializing in international public policy, advocacy, and nonprofit sectors. Before launching his own firm in 2008, James held positions at the multinational agency Fleishman-Hillard as well as LVM Group of New York.
Throughout his career, James has provided expert counsel on digital communications, including social media, issues advocacy, litigation support, and editorial content in addition to the traditional toolbox of media relations and marketing. He has also led dozens of successful projects featuring multimedia content creation, podcasts, and political campaign support. Working with a team of top experts in the field, in 2018 the firm began providing search engine optimization (SEO) and reputation management services to high profile clients from around the world.
Supported by a flexible team of media relations experts, designers, developers, and writers, James has overseen and contributed to high-level media campaigns in countries as diverse as Russia, Nigeria, Thailand, Venezuela, and Zambia.
James holds a dual Master of Arts in Journalism and Latin American Studies from New York University, is a fluent Spanish speaker, an accomplished writer, and a dedicated father of three.
