Media Theory is a Washington DC public relations and digital communications firm founded in 2008. We work with a select group of clients on complex communications challenges — international political causes, legal disputes, advocacy campaigns, and reputation management.
We are a small, experienced team. That means senior attention on every engagement, the ability to move quickly, and a directness that larger agencies can rarely offer. Most of our work comes through referrals from law firms and other professional services firms.

James brings 25 years of experience in public relations and digital communications, with a focus on international public policy, advocacy, and legal disputes. He founded Media Theory in 2008 after working at Fleishman-Hillard and LVM Group of New York.
He holds a dual M.A. in Journalism and Latin American Studies from NYU and is a fluent Spanish speaker.
