Katharine Viles is Account Director at Media Theory, working with clients to design and execute public relations, social media, and content creation strategy.
Katharine holds an MA in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies from King’s College London, completing her dissertation on crisis, feminism, and the political (re)construction of gender in Liberia. She also holds a BSFS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she focused on the cultural politics of religion and gender in the Middle East. She speaks Arabic and French fluently and has published as a reviewer in the Journal of New Middle Eastern Studies.
Before joining Media Theory, Katharine worked with the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers, specializing in project management, event coordination, communications, and research. As an undergraduate, she interned for several nonprofits focusing on progressive advocacy and completed a research fellowship on the implementation of language access laws in DC.
